Three things and we can price it
- Roughly how much. A few items, a pickup load, half a truck, a full truck. That fraction is the quote.
- Which floor. Curb, garage, ground floor, basement. This is the single question most quotes get wrong over the phone.
- Anything awkward. Mattress, fridge, old television, tires, building debris. These carry their own disposal routes.
A photo beats a description every time. Stand at the door and take one wide shot. We can size a load from that in seconds and we will not have to revise the number when the truck turns up.

Every question on the call is there to stop the price changing later. Volume sets the base, the floor it sits on sets the labor, and anything with its own disposal route sets the surcharge. Get those three right on the phone and the number that arrives with the truck is the number you were quoted.
The commonest cause of a revised price is not dishonesty on anyone's part — it is a garage described as "a few things" that turns out to be shoulder-height to the back wall. People underestimate stored volume by roughly half, consistently.

What happens after I call?
We size the load from what you describe, give you a price range on the call, and offer the next available slots. Nothing is booked until you say so, and the number does not change unless what we find differs from what you described.
Do I need to be there?
For most jobs yes, at least to point at what goes. For a garage or curbside load some people leave a note and a photo instead. Anything inside the house needs someone present to open the door and confirm what stays.
How far ahead should I book?
Same week is usually fine. If you are working to a closing date or a tenant move-out, call as soon as you have the date rather than the week of. Fixed deadlines fill the good slots first.
Can you give a firm number over the phone?
A range, yes, and it holds if the description was accurate. A firm number needs eyes on the load, which is why a photo is worth more than five minutes of talking. Send one and the range narrows immediately.
